2.2.2 The following diesel engines with power output greater than 130 kW, and which underwent major conversion per regulation 13(2) on or after
1 January 2000, comply with the emission standards of regulation 13(3Xa) in accordance with the NOs Technical Code.
2.2.3 The following diesel engines from 2.2.1 & 2.2.2 above, which do not require a ready means of vertification, are required to be fitted with NOx emission monitoring
and recording devices:
2.3 Sulphur oxides (SOx) (regulation 14)
2.3.1 When the ship operates within an SOx Emission Control Area specified in regulation 14(2), the ship uses:
.1 fuel oil with a sulphur content that does not exceed 1.5% in/rn as documented by bunker delivery noses; or
.2 an approved exhaust gas cleaning system to reduce SOx emissions below 6.0g SOx/ltWh; or
.3 other approved technology to reduce SOx emissions below 6.Og SOx/kWh.
2.4 Volatile organic compounds (VOCs)

2.4.1 The tanker has a vapour emission control system installed and approved in accordance with MSC/Circ. 585.
2.5 Shipboard incinerators
(regulation 16)
2.5.1 The ships incinerator, in installed on or after [1 January 2000], complies with MEPC resolution 59(33), as amended.
